Title: Scarlet: A Study In Contrast - Stills From My Reel
Name: Tommy Zablan
Country: Canada
Software: SOFTIMAGE|XSI
In a previous post, Hvit_ravn asked why I opted for B&W. When I think about it...good question! It's partly because I initially visualize light intensity in terms of B&W tones.
I'm also a big fan of Edward Weston (as opposed to Ansel Adams who is...err...also very, very good..i.e. "Dramatic landscapes are great but they're just not complete without a figure study or some lushly toned flowery thing (or sexy pepper) in the composition" sort of thing.)
Image above is a less dramatic (i.e. less wide, less acute camera angle)/ more classical composition. Color vs. B&W version supplied for conversation.
Thanks in advance.
