Hit F9. If that didn't make sense, start Here (http://www.lightwave3d.com/tutorials/index.html) and work your way down...

have a look in the manual...it will be the best place for you to start since you are new to LW....

I would also go thru this tut:
http://www.lightwave3d.com/tutorials/animation/video/index.html

it covers alot of the basics....but doesn't replace the manual...

myself also being fairly new to Lightwave, i have to say the manual that comes with the package is one of the hardest to get through that i've ever read, i ended up going through 'Inside Lightwave 7' by Dan Ablan, as well as using various discussion boards and the talents of the great Ben Vost :buttrock:

the manual should be used as a reference guide.....not a book to read straight thru.....hope that helps...

Inside LightWave 6 and Inside LW 7 by Dan Ablan are undoubtadly the ultimate 'tutorial books' for LW. Great for Learning how to produce stuff. The Manual is essential however for developing your understanding of the tools used in the book. I'd also recommend the interactive LW tutorials found at http://www.lightwave3d.com/tutorials/index.html and I have to say to all new comers that they are fantastic. Although I've never actually used those ones when I bought Inspire 3D years ago it had similar interactive tutorials and I think they are one of the best ways to get to grips with the program interface and also learn the essentials to get you going.

Gotta luv those tutorials at Newtek  .

I had alot of fun creating the inspire 3D interactive CD......One day I'll have to do one for LW......

Until then we have tons of tutorials, lots of LW books, great source files to study, CgTalk and more.....

Now is the best time to be learning LW...I wish I had these resources when I was starting out.....
