themike 11-28-2002, 02:10 AM Hi, I'm trying to make a flourescent light for my house. Basically I'm going to have my rectangle glow in this room. How do I achieve in doing this? THanks!

Have you looked up 'Glow' in the help file? Should help you out.

thanks guys... got it... hmm i does reflect light on the walls or anything does it... so I have to add those artificially lights on my own?

Say for instance you used video post, and you gave one object a glow and the other objects in the scene were reflective... then the way Max video post works is that it will render the objects and raytrace the reflections. It will then add the glow (post, as in after the render) to any pixel that is either a direct representation, or a reflected representation of the object you assigned the glow to. In the material editor you can assign an effect channel, which when you apply the glow in video post you use this effect channel number ro make only that object glow.
