Hi guys, I'm new to this so ppllleeaasssee help

1) I just can't get " Snapping along a constraint axis " to work! I saw it on buzz's video, I read it in the help file but I just can't get it to work... when I drag a Move Tool manipulator arrow the thing just dosn't snap! (yes I turned snapping on)

2) I know u can center a pivot, but is it possible to do it the other way, i.e. move the obj to the pivot instead of the pivot to the object?

3) how to I set the Translate attributes to that of World? I tried changing the Modify->Transformation Tools->Move tools (option)
and none of the settings worked. Sometimes after detaching a surface the original polgon's transformation attributes just becomes 0 0 0 when it is clearly not at the center of the world.. how do I make it center of the world? (with pivot and all values as if it were created as a primitive)

Thanks a million!!

turn your grid display on and try to move it in an orthographic view

get pivottoolbox - which is a script available on highend3d.com - it has a funtion that centers an object to its pivot

i don't get it

3) what I meant was sometimes the translate x y z in the channel box or attributes editor shows 0 0 0 when clearly the object is not at the center of the world. (e.g. try creating a poly cube, moving it away from the world center, then extract one face. Now the extracted face and the cube has translate xyz as 000 when clearly they are not at world center)
I'm new to this so maybe the coordinates are local or object. What I am asking is how do I set it such that these values represent their world position? (i.e. 0 0 0 would place the object at the center of the world/grid)

Thanks for answering the other 2, I really appreciate it :)
