View Full Version : DAZ characters direct to 3dsmax7/8?

Anyone out there worked with the DAZ characters in 3dsmax?

I imported the free "Victoria"(.obj), but shes set up to be used in Poser it seems. I'm just getting my feet wet in animation, so alot of this stuff is rather new to me. I'm a modeler and usually leave the moving stuff to others!

From what I understand, the character will need to be fully rigged in 3dsmax, seeing that it imports as just an .obj thats in a gazillion pieces (actually 55), and of course as a triangulated editable mesh. I'm guessing the character as is, is no real advantage other than already being modelled ( thats a huge plus really!).

It seems that these DAZ characters are designed for use in Poser, though I did located a pluin by Digimation called GestureMax($295.00). Can't say that I'm very fond of the idea that I have to spend 300 bucks just to get this character into Max intact!

Any ideas out there? Yes I can model my own character in Max and rig it and all, or get Poser 5, true. But thats not the solution or option I have at the moment.
