View Full Version : First attempt at photorealistic rendering
Macko-San 01-05-2006, 09:57 AM Im trying to do a photorealistic rendering, something I have never done before, so any help would be appreciatied. I need help with making the lighting and materials to look good and realistic.
This is only a test render so the quality on the shadows and stuff are quit low. Raytracing is turned of, but I will use it in the final image. Radiosity is being used.
Done in 3dsmax.

I´m using a Vray material on the floor, with glossines on the reflections so that they will get blurry and fade. The problem is that the light gets overexposed, as you can see in the picture. If i decrease the relfection amount to get rid of the overexposed light reflection I lose the other subtle reflections I´m going for.
Is there anyway to get around this?
The light thats being reflected is an omni light. Multiplier 0,8, decay typ: inverse square start 1 m. It is placed about 2 meters above the floor.
I don´t use fresnel reflections here, should I?
