This is not an illustration. This is a sketch.

I saw some of you guys are getting busy with markers, so I thought it a good idea to post one aswell. I hardly ever use markers for illustration, but mainly for concept sketching.

This Jeep I made today for an ad, basically to show the client the fact that I want a Jeep in the ad, what kind of a Jeep, what colour, the position of the thing etc.
For the final piece (and when the client says "yes please") I will hire a Jeep and a photographer and shoot a picture of a Jeep in this position etc.

I kept everything very rough, because it is just for a concept, but also to give myself some space to make changes at the photo shooting.

Only thing I did in photoshop is taking the airbrush tool and kick in some dots for the highlights.
Cheers, Jeroentje :beer:

Wow:eek: That's an impressive marker sketch! I especially like how you handled the hubcaps.:applause:

Thanks :)

Odd: chrome is a mirror, and there is not a single spot of red in it LOL

You Master of Markers :bowdown:
The sketch is great, the only defect i found (and its a matter of taste) is that there are too much airbrush dots highlits, jeeps use to be muddy and dirty.
Whats the ad for?
Finish your challenge entry, leave work aside. :)

you handle them well my friend. My wife used to do comps and storyboards for a living in Atlanta, so I've seen my share of these. She always worked on Graphics 360 pads. The deadlines were harsh.

So now I know a bit more of how you spend your days. Diversity=Jeroentje

@Pancreas
I'll mud him up later in Photoshop, and blend it into a lay-out that way. Yeah, maybe I overdid it a bit with he highlights, but exagurating (spelling?) will make it pop out of the ad a bit more and will help sell the concept (yeah, I know I'm a whore) ;)

And no can't do Pancreas. I will not post the whole thing before my client saw it. I'll see if I can post the final piece with the sketch when the printwork is delivered.
I just wanted to post some markerwork here, and this way it can be for anything.

@Sleepless
Wow, thanks for the compliment, specially from you :)
This is just a (too) small part of my job. I work for a very small ad agency. So I do concept, graphic design, webdesign, illustration, even copywriting... anything in the creative side of the company basically.

Wow, you are a man of many talents. This looks like a Jeep alright. Maybe a bit too much shiney chrome for a Jeep, but other than that it looks accurate. Personally I prefer the round lens Jeeps. The rectangled ones are like black sheep to the Jeep loyalists.

Oh ... needs a shadow too. It's floating. :D

Very cool perspective. I like the rest of dirt on the front window which hasnīt been cleaning by the wipers. btw how long did you take on this one???
