Hi, I'm having some trouble with fog in maya.
I want to apply a ramp to the density of a simple fog or a fog volume. That way I have better control of the height of the fog. But I can't get it to work. When I apply it to the foglayer on the simple fog as suggested in the online help, it doesn't work. I tried applying it to the density and transparenty but neither work. Editing the ramp has effect on the fog, but there there is no gradient visible in the fog. And I projected the ramp to cover the area I want to see the gradient.
The building in my scene is very big (700 units), so maybe that got something to do with it.
Am I doing something wrong or do I use the wrong method.
Does anybody know how to solve this?
thanx in advance
