View Full Version : music promo made with C4D ( contains CA )
robotbob 01-05-2006, 01:27 AM hello
this is the first complete piece i have posted at cgtalk and since i have got so much help from a few guys here - you will be the first to see it. thanks again fellas for all the time you have given in answering my questions. after being mostly a stop motion guy i have chipped away at my 3D skills now for about two years so this little film represents more than the odd late night - particulary with the mocca module. ( viva motionbuilder ) but i have finally turned a few C4D corners and can begin to animate with a sense of humour again. i hope you like it.

That's a very interesting and impressive concept you've got going there, with only one minor let down for me, that being the type face used throughout and the way in which text was utilized. Other than that i'm blown away by the quality of the piece.

Wow robotbob, wow! I already added the song to my shopping cart, it's a great tune. And the video is fantastic. I love the style...the modeling, the texturing, and the rendering. Great postwork too! I really liked the ending scene with the nice particle effect and bird on the branch. Did you do the particles in C4D as well?

Congrats...nice work. I had a look at your web site and am looking forward to seeing the feature too. It's great to see designers and animators using 3D in a more creative way than the usual cave troll/racing car/bikini babe type of context.

thanks fellas
the band were a really top couple of blokes, they basically let me go for it and were not at all fazed by any undie y front wierdness. and priest - thanks for the feedback re the type - you are probably right as that type stayed the same right thru from treatment tests to the final edit so if you can spare the time please show me how you would lay it out - i might be able to slip in a change on the news reels.
the particles for the jetpack sex scene ? - hell no ! not done in pyrocluster after effects is so fast at this type of thing. ( with particular - trapcode )
cheers

very nice style !

Great style. I loved the piece.
I did recognize a couple of Motionbuilder motion clips ;), but hey you used them VERY creatively on your project, great work!
I will take a look at your other samples.
I'm also interested in motion graphics combining 3d and 2d.
Good luck to you.

really beautiful, and your style is a great match for the song. Really loved the hand drawn/made nature of the piece - parts of it look like real stop motion rather than 3D.
Outstanding - think I'll buy the song too ;-)

I recently installed iTunes and I think it might have screwed up my QT. Let me see if I can repair it.
Instantly closes IE for me too.

Maybe you could post a link for download? I suspect the problem lies with the QT/IE plugin.

i am using the H.264 codec which may be a bit much for some sytems although i have limited the data rate - i have google searched the internet and found alot of people with similar problems - so i guess i will have to re-encode it. what codec do you guys prefer/find robust ? sorrenson 3 ? man what a hastle ! . dang.

I have a 2.6Ghz AMD X2 machine with 2GB ram and plenty of HD space, so it's definitely not a question of insufficient horsepower.
Sorrenson has always been reliable for me.

Worked for me using Firefox 1.5 and Quicktime Alternative browser plugin.
Removed QT7 from my system since it was very unreliable.

I'm using a P4 3.4 HT.
