_Description
Join the award winning technology team behind the F.E.A.R.™ and Condemned: Criminal Origins™ game franchises.
Work closely with engineers, designers, and artists on building the cutting-edge tools powering the development of the next generation of console and PC games.
_Responsibilities
Oversee the technical direction of Monolith's action division's tools technology focused first on the current games in production and second on the future use of the tools.
Architect major tools systems and approve changes to the tools technology.
Mentor tools engineers on the proper use of the various systems and on the best methodologies for enhancing and maintaining the tools code base.
Assist content creators on the proper use of the tools.
Work closely with the Director of Technology, Engine Architect, and lead content creators on the development of Monolith's action division's long-term tools plan.
_Qualifications
5+ years of professional C/C++ programming.
Experience writing plug-ins for 3D design tools such as Maya, 3DSMax, etc.
Experience writing MFC and/or Windows GUI applications.
Experience designing and developing tools for 3D game engines and a working knowledge of 3D math.
Ability to collaborate with engineers and content creators to ensure our tools are as robust and cutting-edge as possible.
Ability to openly discuss and review tools related technical proposals, requirements, designs, algorithms, source code, and reference documents with engineers, content creators, and managers.
Ability to easily communicate technical topics with both engineers and non-technical people alike.
Expert knowledge of (or the ability to quickly learn) Monolith's action division's tools technology implementation, architecture, usage patterns, data formats, strengths, and weaknesses.
Creative, focused, results-oriented, self-motivated, resourceful problem-solver with excellent debugging and strong communications skills.
Strong desire to build outstanding tools technology.
Ability to work well in a team development environment.
_Preferred Experience
Designed and implemented a major tools suite for a AAA game.
Experience working with the LithTech (or similar) 3D engine.
Microsoft Visual C++/.NET development environment.
Worked on a published game.
