Hi there,
I have created a dinosaur model for a rain drenched scene, and would like to achieve the effect of rivulets of water running down its body, combined (if possible) with subtle spatter. I have experimented with animated bitmaps in the bump and specular material slots, but have yet to achieve the effect I am after (although these textures tile well enough, the loop is obvious, and there is no randomisation)
It was achieved to great effect in Godzilla a few years back. At a LEAF seminar around the time of the film's release, a couple of the VFX managers who worked on it, showed the various passes used to create a pivotal scene. I guess the rain dripping down the big fella's leg was procedural, but they didn't let on how this was done.
Please could you fine fellows provide me with an answer?
thanks a million
