3dsmax4 - technical rigging process reweighing

I am having some issues with hiding selected Elements while the vertexes won't hide at all.

I know I can go to the Selection Vertex rollout and hide them but I have to select them individually and it can get confusing when more than one Elements collide.

I was wondering if there are ways to hide certain vertexes of that certain Element at once?

In Max 4 that is just how it worked, this has been corrected since about Max 6 I think. Time to upgrade;) You will have to script a solution for this. Been a long time since I looked at Max 4 and I don't have it installed any more, just cleaned it off the system a month ago. Have a look on scriptspot or other script sites and see if you can find a script to help you out. I'm sure that there is something out there that is public for this.
