Yager Development is looking an experienced Lead Animator
Responsibilities
Take responsibility for the qualitative and timely accomplishment of the animation workload of a Next-Gen project
Design character animation prototypes that define the project’s stylistic and quality animation standards
Understand, communicate and manage the animation-specific artistic and technical needs in all relevant areas of the project; Co-operate with Game Designers and Programmers to solve animation-related tasks and problems
Direct and coordinate the work of a small team of internal animation artists
Check and approve outsourced animation assets, including Mocap data
Translate animation-related design demands into animation tasks, takelists etc.
Review and design animation-related workflows
Requirements
Familiarity with traditional animation techniques and principles
Demonstrable experience and understanding of the technical restrictions for console games and creating great animations for realtime purposes
Experience in working with mocap processes / data
Strong artistic ability to design reality-oriented, but efficient and "cool looking" character animations, military/combat-related movements, facial animation. Animals (e.g. dogs) should not pose a problem
2+ years industry experience in 3D animation with an excellent working knowledge of Maya, Max, Motionbuilder
Good communication skills in verbal and written form
Fluent in either English or German; If German, ability to communicate in English as well
Interest in the subject and style of games
Strong animation-related technical understanding
Quality-conscious for the demands of Next-Gen console gaming; Dedication to deliver a top-notch game production
Desireable Skills
Experience of all phases of games production
Track record of shipped titles
