01-03-2006, 10:16 PM

01-03-2006, 10:25 PM
Awesome lighting, the clip flows smoothly as well~!
Someone care to elaborate the meaning behind the commercial?
01-03-2006, 10:29 PM
I think they are trying to break into the store to be sold.
01-03-2006, 10:32 PM
hey everyone, thanks for the replies!
sheepfactory, thanks for the plug!!!
arquiteck09: yes it's all cg.
ashen: they're trying to break into the store because they want to be sold there, we think it works pretty well, of course it's hard to judge when you're so close to it. but we've gotten positive reactions so far.
all the rest: thx for the kind words!
01-03-2006, 10:54 PM

01-04-2006, 02:57 AM
I just love the part were the lamp is running as fast as it can to hide behind the wall.
01-04-2006, 04:20 AM
top nutch work u got there!
01-04-2006, 05:15 AM

01-04-2006, 08:06 AM
Very nice concept.. Great modeling, lightning and animation
I wonder which software do u use too and i'll be pleased if u show us some rig and model example..
Keep good working :applause:
I've shown this to a friend at work here.
he allwais notices stuff everyone else (well, most ppl) dont.
at the shot where all the furniture is comming out from behind the wall and form a line to sneak into the shop (11\12'th second), the lamp leads the way and the small orange furniture is the first one follow to it.
At the next shot (which feels like continuing at the same time but from a different angle), you see the lamp leading and the red furniture following it ...
I understand that the composition is much better with the orange after the lamp in the first shot (being that it is shorter than the red) and you need the red's drawers for the second shot ... I bet you had hard time deciding if to go this way or not :)
I didnt notice it and I bet most ppl who see it dont

Darned good stuff mate! Any breakdowns? :-)
01-04-2006, 08:46 AM
beautifully executed.
really liked the audio as well.
01-04-2006, 09:17 AM
Really funny story and concept. Great work!
One thing though, The moon is moving with the lamp when he jumps down from the bushes - kinda easy to notice cause of its place in the picture.=)
01-04-2006, 09:21 AM
great look, light, and animation.
It's great how you guys gave character to the stuff. Especially the lamp having a hard try opening that door.
It's a pity that it's all so hectic and short... but that's the price for commercials.
01-04-2006, 09:32 AM
the Voice over is saying a line that relates to the store, + the tagline.
we can't really find an english translation that sounds right, but...
"geko woonwereld, daar ga je levenslang voor." basically means,
"geko, the thing you choose for the rest of your life"...kinda :p
webhead: maya was used for all animation and rigging, then the animation was exported to lightwave (using Point Oven) for final shading and rendering.
wolfie: enkel op WTV (west vlaamse televisie) en AVS (oost vlaamse televisie).
APD_jack: I'm sorry but I can't show any rigs publicly. I hope you'll understand.
zman: You're right, we had to do some switcheroo there, but we don't think it takes anything away from the action or story. but of course, you're right.
GallenWolf: thank you for your reply, what exactly do you mean with breakdowns?
lehmi: yeh, 30 seconds (including tagline and packshot) is not exactly feature length :). thx for your reply :)
everyone, thank you for replying so far! much appreciated!
PS: any additional mirrors would be welcome, PM me if you feel like being a nice CG'er today :).

01-06-2006, 09:11 AM
Could we get a translation of what is said at the end? Maybe it's hilarius?
Again, very nice animation!
The little lamp reminds me of scratch from ice age!
01-06-2006, 09:19 AM
The line at the end is something that only really works in dutch...it's a saying...
it's something like "the thing you choose for the rest of your life"...
...I know...but trust me, it works in dutch.
scrat from ice age was one of the references I used for the lamp's animation :)
thx again everyone for replying :).
01-06-2006, 09:23 AM
it does indeed work in our lame german-sounding language :p
