I'm trying to find some resources on how to do some of those commonly seen effects with shaking text or the quick screen flashes/white outs. The first example that comes to mind is the beginning credits on the movie "House on Haunted Hill". The text seems to shake. Does anyone have any good tutorials on this or advice?

I can't seem to get my thought together today, so I'll just leave my question at that:)
