View Full Version : Q: Camera View in Model
Tee Double U 01-01-2006, 11:35 PM Hello
Is there a way to get the view a camera has in layout and get that frame range to appear in a modeler view port.... I am trying to optimise a fly through and want trees only that will be seen in the final rendering.
LW7.5D.......... Also.. if this is not possible,, any other suggestions???
thanks

ola,
there is no way to match the Camera View to the Modelers Perspective (only by hand).
BUT you can export your Camera path as a Motion and Clone objects along that path, so that you see where your Camera travels in 3D Space.
As this "Curve Path" is absolute and you might moved your objects in Layout its recommended that you save helpful guide Objects as "transformed" from Layout.
If you re new to Lightwave this might sound confusing - just try it :)
Here is how:
.Export Camera Path:
.select Camera and "Save Motion" (i always access this from shortcut so you have to find it for yourself - at least you find it in your "Configure keys" Panel under Motion)
Save your Object (for example the landscape you have) as "transformed Object" (don t overwrite your original one with this!)
Import to Modeler:
.Open Modeler and load your transformed object
.Go to a next layer and add a Point (or anything else what helps you)
.use "Motion Path Clone" under the Multiply Tab you can find it in "Duplicate" under "More"
.when he asks for the motion file point him to your saved Camera Motion
He should now have created cloned Points on your Camera Path. You should get the idea whats possible.
