video567 11-27-2002, 02:50 AM hi all im playing with the new demo and im trying to make the arms of the lego figure and i cant figure it out. i tryied bending a cylinder but i cant get it it right . im attaching a picture of different screen grabs ..the top picture is whatthe arm needs to look like the second top is someone elses finished model and the 2 bottom figures are my attempt. if anyone can help i would appreciate it. i know the head is abit big.. im just trying this out . thanks again

maybe the easiest way would be to loft along a series of circles, one at the hand end, then two a the elbow, another two at the shoulder. (one facing the shoulder the otehr at 90 degrees to get that bend at the top. Then put caps on the loft start or end depending on which way around you put your circle's into the loft object.
what's your main problem, it looks to me like it's ok, but you need to make the diameter of the cylinder larger so that it doesn't intersect badly with the hand.

thanks for the response thats how i finally did it for this picture 2 circle splines one on top and one at bottom and 2 in the middle rotated at different angles to get the curve.. illtr iy again and make the circle splinea bit bigger in the middle

poly + hypernurbs, but you can use loft nurbs too

Here's my guys - I did them a year ago - hands are loftnurbs with circle splines..
