View Full Version : Best way to make complicated models
What is the best way to make complicated models? I am trying to find one good technique that I can master that will allow me to make alot of diffrent kinds of models (people, cars, buildings, etc). Does anybody have any suggestions? I would also like to know of any good books for 3ds max 7.
Thanks,
Islam Sharabash
Edit: Just realized how stupid my question was, how do I delete a thread

Hey dont be too quick calling yourself stupid! (I know you said stupid question, but remember there are no stupid questions only stupid people ;) )
Actually, like there is no universal glue thats good for every fuc.. I mean, every single thing - there is no modeling technique that fits everything HOVEVER a lot of modeling can be and usually is done with sub division modeling (box modeling). People do all kind of stuff with it - from heads, animals, cars to buildings. Its good for a lot of things and I recomend it - but keep in mind some stuff may be better done with something else!

for alot of different models try a lot of different techniques, strip modeling ( polygon by polygon ) box modeling, spline and nurn modeling ( althou u dont have control on the mesh ).
thanks for the replys! I guess I'll have to start planning my modeling more too... I usually get a little done and realize I can't do the rest with that tchnique...
