Was it AutoDesk buying up Alias? MacroMedia getting gobbled up by Adobe? The million little aquisitions and exclusive licenses that EA signed up? The launch of the XB360? The release of MAXWELL?... ok, I guess that last one might have to wait till 2006, or 2007.
