Hi,

So here's the deal I gave up a career as a portrait painter to pursue a career in 3D modeling and texturing. This is my first real project as I have been doing tutorial after tutorial (plenty of DVD's from Gnomon Workshops). It's got a long way to go before I start texturing and I figured a beautiful woman that people know is a pretty good Bench mark for critiques so please tear it to pieces.

Happy New Year,

Jeff

Great work, but i donīt like the hair, you can model it out of the head, i thik so, because the union into the head en the hair are very smooth, you can make hard edge in the union to break this smooth.

Great Work

work on the corners of the mouth, they should be much smoother, so that you dont see a crack at the very corner. You've got the likeness very well, but if you want my advice, get rid of the hair. Seriously. Model her head, and do hair afterwards. Also, i would try and smooth out her face much more, she seems very blocky. Try using the sculpt polygon tool in smooth mode, it should help in certain places but dont overdo it or you will lose the form. Other parts you will have to do by hand.

Keep going!

Guys , thanks for the replies ,I'll show some more pics tomorow.Just out of curiosity could you give me a workflow strategy for the hair, should I just build it like any other poly object one solid mass and then make my respective maps(color ,Bump, spec, and alpha channel.0 Should I make strips of poly's. I'm kinda confused. And I'm puzzled about the eye's I don't know what shader to use, any advice will be greatly appreciated.
