Title: Environment, The Wreck
Name: François Gutherz
Country: France
Software: LightWave 3D, Photoshop

This is my very first serious attempt of 2D art. As a matter of fact, I used mixed techniques. The initial layout was modeled & rendered in 3D with a very basic setup. Then I oversampled the rendering & started to paintover on it.
It's a bit minimalistic, mainly because I was afraid of ruining it with too many painfull details.
I think the influences are quit clear, regarding the style. I'll try to go for something more personal while improving my technique (and get rid of the underlying 3D :).
Thx for your (harsh|constructive) comments

Thanks for the kind words guys !

- indirect influence : HPX1 (http://www.hpx1.com/modules/coppermine/albums/userpics/10002/cercles-rouges-aux-cyborgs%5B1%5D.jpg)
- more direct influence : Sparth (http://www.sparth.com/gallery/albums/userpics/la-voie-ancienne-small.jpg)
Of course my work is quite miserable in comparison. Just work & improve :)

Oh, btw, here's the original 3d rendering (http://astrofra.com/posts/wreck_3d_base.jpg) if you want to figure out the beginning of the process.

Hey Fra :D
Gorgeous image! I specialy enjoy that cold mood and the localized touches of red, very graphic. The painting effect works great, it's cool to see how you make evolve your very personal style !

Excellent stuf my gifted friend !

francescaluce :
Thanks for the 'word' :). I know you need less to say more, and appreciate your opinions.

Facial : thx pal ! 2d/3d/2d, it's like a neverending process, resulting the pictural tension is my only concern, as always :wise:

meykurt : yap, it's my problem with this image. It's kind of unfinished/too simple

ehsan / jose : thx ! I don't want people to know that I did this in 3D and this in 2D. It's just about making pictures :)
