View Full Version : Question: Equivalent to Set-Driven key?
TapioKa 11-26-2002, 04:13 PM This has probably been asked before, but is there an equivalent of the set driven key in Maya, within Max? I find this a really handy tool in Maya, and wish Max had it. Perhaps wiring controllers together is as close as it gets?
Curious.
Thanks!

The Reactor controller is about as close as you'll get in Max.

Thanks Iain, you're a wealth of knowledge.
I didn't even know this existed. Thanks again.

What, in a nutshell, is it that set driven keys does in Maya? I've never been clear on this.
Thanks,

Set driven key in Maya, is a pretty nice way to do secondary animation without to constantly keyframe.
When one object or element animates, another object animates (reacts) automatically to your predefined movements.
Some people use it for bicep muscle flexing when the arms move, or for a door to automatically open if a object goes through it.
Very useful.

Ah......ok, like he said,...hmmm. I wonder if it works any more coherently than our beloved reactor controller. Well, I'm having a whirlwind of fun right now and I tell you I want to chunk the reactor controller out the window. Ok, ok, it's more than likely user error, but WHERE'S THE DOCUMENTATION???? Reactor controller has very little written about it in the manuals or tutorials. It's really making me bald.
