I've run into a real weird bird of a problem.
I've opened an old project that I did in Maya 4.5 into Maya 5. I do not need to change any of the keyframes or make any changes to the file at all. I just need to re-render the project.
Problem is in the first file I opened when I render it the IK feet on the character become stuck at a certain point, about three quarters of the way through the scene, causing the remaining rig to keep right on going with the feet stationary.
Yet in the next scene file the feet start to sort of swim after about half the scene is done. The character jumps onto the floor and looks up. As soon as the jump is complete the feet start to drift under the character, below the floor.
If I simply hit the play button in the Time Slider it plays as expected.
If I run Playblast it performs exactly what I want.
If I take these files to another computer that has 4.5 it works the way I expect..
But if I run "Set NURBS Tesselation" in Maya 5 the problem occurs.
Any ideas what's going on here?
The feet are NURBS that are soft bound to an IK Rig.
I'd like to render on the computer with Maya 5 because it has twice the muscle that the old computer has.
