I just recently... well a few minutes ago made my first move from a PC to a mac!
So far everything is great since Mac gives the obvious bigger better futuristic impression with its machine design.
But one major problem I'm having right now is the Mouse tracking. On a PC system, when changing the mouse preference there was an accelerate option where your mouse travels extra fast if you were moving the mouse at a normal speed, and when you try to pick a specific item say a 5x5 pixel button it slows down.
I want that option OFF.
But I can't find this accelerate thing under mouse preference. This thing is getting in the way of everything so much right now that I'm having trouble clicking on buttons. Buttons like close/minimize/maximize.
Is there a way to turn off this option or am I screwed?
I'm running on ... I think it's tiger. But it doesn't say it is, just say Mac 10.4.3. On an imac g5 with a mighty mouse. Help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!
edit: I googled on this subject and it seems that Mac loves accelerate mouse and won't let us turn it off without download a 3rd party app....
Some users actually like the Mac mouse speed. How bout everyone else here? Do you Mac users download the 3rd party programs or stick with the "Mac way"?
edit again: argh... none of the programs work. Which one do you guys use? I just want the simpliest one, just a check box is enough. Links would be great.
edit one last time... can't figure out how to delete post: steermouse works pretty well, but it's shareware for $20.
