View Full Version : Quick Question on Field Rendering
ahattemer 11-26-2002, 04:33 AM Really quick question, how would i go about only rendering only a field, or certain area of an image. For example, my scene by default renders the following image:
http://www.smuserver.net/images/interfacefull.jpg
but i only want to render the section outlined in this red box, without moving the perspective of the camera.

WHAT DO I DO? thank you

With out getting software specific just set up Multiple cameras. :)
Oh wait, this is the Max forum. Still just setup multiple cameras with proper naming conventions. For testing just an area of the image select the drop down menu (Render Type) and select Region.
Look for the virtual viewport, i think that should help you.

The virtual viewport OpenGL only function will not help in this. MAX will still render out the entire image.
The solution in this case lies in the features "Region", as Rice mentioned. That, or "Blowup", whatever you want.
Look 'em up in the help-file if you're unsure what this render-region thing is about.
Oh, and you should stay away from calling this field rendering, fields are something quite different. Happy region rendering :)
