Senior Environment Artist Needed- NCsoft Santa Monica, CA
Established in 1997 as a systems integration company in Seoul, South Korea, NCsoft is the world's largest independent online game company. In Korea, its hit game Lineage has attracted over 4 million active players, the greatest number of concurrent users in the world. Other titles include City of Heroes, Guild Wars, and Lineage II. Formerly known as Destination Games, the North American branch of NCsoft is lead by famed Ultima designer and programmer Richard Garriot.
NCsoft is seeking a Senior Environment Artist to join a highly creative environment and work on exciting projects in their Santa Monica art studio. We are looking for highly skilled environment artists to create art to be modeled. Join our talented team!
Basic duties:
Creates artwork that serves to bridge the concept art with the final modeling and lighting. Creates mood and effects paintings and color keys to communicate the final vision to the production team. Works under the direction of art director.
What we’d like to see in your portfolio:
- Color keys
- Matte painting or finished paintings that reflect an ability to communicate art directions to the CG team (lighting, value, effects, texture).
- Designs with architectural and environmental elements (stone, water, smoke, forest, etc.).
- - 3D matte painting skills and some CG modeling experience preferred
- samples that show strong lighting/color sense and flexibility in style.
- some samples of designs(line work) for modelers.
