Admiral_Clow 11-26-2002, 12:33 AM Okay here's a little graphic I did for the Sci-Fi Meshes Contest. Came in 12th out of 25. :) Sort of a rush job, but take a look, tell me what you think

ah.... okay. I finally saw where the tanks are. somehow, the elements in this pic don't fit together very well...
maybe it's the lighting... i feel that there's no real lightsource in the pic (lamps, spotlights, torches etc). There's just a general light all round (izzat called ambient lighting?) and that doesn't really work with the pic... especially with a night/space background...
The ruins in the foreground are nice... there's some highlights that define the cracks and patterns, but towards the background, they become flat... like there are only 2 shades to them.... and the black splotches look very strange...
and the tanks, they were the same color as the ground so i didn't spot them the first time... especially the second tank. it just blends into the shadows. i think some highlights would be in order...
a thought just occured to me. your background pic show space and some sorta sun/ nebula thingy (that red-ish orange glow). You can use that as your light source. Light the pic from the back instead of the front...
and the camera angle is just slightly boring.
ah well. that's just my thoughts. hope i wasn't too depressing :surprised try your best~
