Constantly challenged to create innovative new technologies for animated features, theme park productions and special projects for the Walt Disney Studios, Disney Animation is home to some of the most talented artists working in the film industry today. Disney Animation is comprised of Feature Animation, Disney Circle Seven Animation and DisneyToon Studios, all located in Burbank and Glendale, California.

Disney Animation currently has an exciting opportunity for a part-time Training Specialist, working up to 29 hours/week for 6 months. This is a great opportunity for professors looking for a part time job in addition to teaching.

Responsibilities
- Develop curriculum for digital training programs in consultation with Training Manager.
- Teach software programs such as Maya, Houdini, Shake, SPCA, VISN, FAME II, and have a working knowledge of web tools, Renderman, Unix, Linux, Subdivision Surfaces, and C++.
- Create training materials, exercises and handouts to complement digital training programs.
- Create online training materials as assigned by Training Manager.
- Gather book and DVD suggestions for the APD library from Production and consult with Training Manager regarding acquisition. Inform librarian of new purchases.
- Arrange facilities, equipment, and supporting materials for training programs in consultation with Training Manager.
- Continually increase personal levels of proficiency, including in all new software, hardware, procedures, and techniques.
- Demonstrate a solid understanding of various means of animation and live action production processes, including digital 2D, digital 3D, traditional, as well as an understanding of production management.
- Demonstrate expert knowledge in several areas of animation production.
- Initiate and participate in creating documentation as needed
- Prepare reports on progress of trainees.
- Deliver 'Train the Trainer' sessions to Trainers, and/or Managers on newly developed training programs.
- Work with limited supervision on assigned projects.
- Report class status and updates to Training Manager on a regular basis.
- Follow up classes with the appropriate paperwork process.
- Excellent communication skills - written and verbal. Assist in fostering a community of collaboration and positive communications.

Requirements
- Previous teaching experience required.
- Proficiency in use and in teaching software programs such as Maya, Houdini, Shake, CHIP, SPCA, VISN, FAME II, and have a working knowledge of Unix, Linux, SubDivision Surfaces, and C++.
- Ability to create training materials.
- Comfortable speaking in front of large groups.
- Ability to arrange facilities, equipment, and supporting materials for training programs in consultation with Training Manager.
- A desire to continually increase personal levels of proficiency, including in all new software, hardware, procedures, and techniques.
- Demonstrated solid understanding of various means of animation and live action production processes, including digital 2D, digital 3D, traditional, as well as an understanding of production management.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
