How can I limit the degree of rotation on an object, for example a mesh that I'm using as a bone (NOT a bone object). I want to limit the rotation to different degrees on all three axes. Is this even possible?

Joint angle limits can only be set on bones (or, more generally, nodes within a heirarchy) which are controlled by an IK solver.
