This may be something new for most of you, but I thought this is the perfect opportunity to share this latest emerging technology of Machinima Arts and Sciences.

Machinima is simply animated filmmaking within a real-time virtual 3D environment. It is an absolute mixture of creative platforms -- filmmaking, animation and 3D game technology.

Most games such as Sims 2, Unreal Tournament 2004, F.E.A.R, DOOM 3 and Half Life 2 are common engines that feature great Machinima possibilites. I've been a member of CG-Society for some time now and realize this is the best place to go for information related to computer graphics, digital art, 3D animation and visual effects. I was hoping we could welcome the Art of Machinima into this community and help make this technology grow.

As a result, I have teamed up with a member from Machinima.com to produce weekly pod casts titled Machinima LIVE! The pod casts can be downloaded from the link below.
http://www.chaotic-realms.com (http://www.chaotic-realms.com/)

You can also visit the main machinima web-site at http://www.machinima.org (http://www.machinima.org/) or http://www.machinima.com (http://www.machinima.com/) to view latest in machinima films. Other Machinima-related web-sites include http://www.3dfilmmaker.com (http://www.3dfilmmaker.com/) and http://www.binarypictureshow.com (http://www.binarypictureshow.com/)

Please give one or both of these episodes a listen when you have some spare time. Feel free to leave your comments or suggestions on this thread. We are looking for volunteers that can meet with us live on Skype and conduct interviews or just have a fun conversations to liven up our pod casts. Machinima is exciting technology that is becoming more mainstream and provides a quicker way for independant filmmakers to showcase their stories on film without an expensive budget!

Any ideas or suggestions are welcome. Thanks again.
