Los Angeles based previsualization company seeks intermediate to senior level freelance previsualization artist for an upcoming film project in Jan 2006. The desired candidate should possess a solid working knowledge of Maya character and camera animation, rigging and modeling tools. A strong knowledge in cinematic language is also required. Past previs experience is a massive plus.
The pace for this job will be intense. The total team consists of a previs supervisor, 2 senior artists, 1 intermediate artist, and a junior. We're looking for that intermediate level artist who thinks s/he's ready for the big leagues. This project is a feature film, with ties to a large visual effects house up in northern california. You must be comfortable working under tight deadlines and having a director looking over your shoulder.
The project is divided in two phases. The first 10 week phase will be here in Los Angeles and starts immediately on 2 Jan 2006. The second phase is 17 weeks in Montreal starting around mid-March or April 1st. Only one artist from the team will travel to Montreal with the previs supervisor. Selection will be made on performance during the 10 week LA phase. The candidate must express a willingness to go to Montreal or we can not hire you.
Candidate must also have his/her own workstation or laptop to work on. We prefer local talent, but will consider non Los Angeles candidates if they are willing to relocate for this temporary position.
