Sorry, I edited the original post, here it is again. Can somebody please tell me how to make a motor boat for example collide with a wall? When I make my motor boat an active rigid body, it loses its connection with the locator node. I have tried making a hidden collision object but that has to be parented to my locator and therefore has no effect when it hits a wall.

Make a box or simple object your motorboat. Now make it a passive, non-colliding rigid body and constrain your actual motor boat to it (perhaps with spring constraints). You can then hide the box so it doesn't render.

Whoa! That works but it is way out of control, I guess I have to constrain it properly with multiple springs? Also when I rewind the simulation sometimes the two objects do not reset themselves properly and end up all over the place, how can I rectify that? I am not using the save to cache at this stage either.
