You gave me a freaking heart attack.. a Metal Gear Solid film ought to suck SO bad without David Hayter as Snake's voice.

well david hayter did play the guyver in the scifi remake of the guyver, so he's not unfamiliar to screen acting, and from what i remembered he might be able to do well in teh role if he beefed up a bit and grew some facial hair.

This is old news for those who have read Kojima's blog.

I'm not sure how great idea this will be. The storyline of MGS3 doesn't easily translate into a film format if just ported over from the game using its cutscenes. Adaptation would be a different thing, but with a direct translation and an added narration to apparently cover the holes (left from such elements as gameplay and radio conversations), I don't know. And it clocks at three and a half hours?

Of course, I'm a huge Metal Gear Solid fan so I'm dying to see it anyway.

There will be new scenes, it was stated on IGN if I recall, so expect to see Snake fight with the bosses in new cinematics.

Agreed.

David Hayter's voice IS Solid Snake. No movie without him in my opinion!

By the way:

Add a bandana on his head, and David Hayter does look like Solid Snake. If he can really act and the movie would not suck to begin with, I wouldn't hate the idea.

Why are you guys talking about acting and stuff? It sais
"Before MGS fans blow their top, they should know that the movie is just in-game footage, and it's not a premiere of the series' long-rumored feature film."

Or did I miss something?

sean connery would be a good revolver ocelot

http://www.sean-connery.net/filmografia/nuevo%20index/dosmil.jpghttp://guidesarchive.ign.com/guides/569/images/ocelot.jpg

but alas this will never happen. hideo said there are no plans to make a live action metal gear because the games story was made to fit a game universe. I remember reading an interview with yoji shinkawa, and he also said he would doubt ever doing a manga of metal gear solid, although konami did release a few comics, those are simply taken from the cut scenes from Twin snakes, but they are cool all the same.

solid snake is sposed to part japanese par english raised in america or something like that originally so i always thought that keanu suited the snake from mgs1 on the psone, but then mgs2 came and they gave snake a face, so then that idea went outa the window, i have heard all kinds of ideas from russle crow to christian bale.http://tinypic.com/1houmb

the orignal artwork for the mgs on the nintendo entertainment systesm and msx had a very bruce willis looking snake.

Who came up with the idea of turning games into movies? It just donsn't seem right. Ah well we'll wait and see i guess.

Nice choice of actors to play snake. But if this thing is to be, it must only be directed by Uwe Boll.

Actually, they used a promo picture of Michael Biehn as Kyle Reese from the film The Terminator. Check this out:

OHHHHH yeah i remember that! I don't know what it is about old game art...but i love it. Even though sometimes it had nothing to do with the game.

Metal Gear movie would rock...but only if hollywood doesn't ruin it!

And don't forget Anderson MUST be the Producer and Jackson has to be Exe. Producer for the cope!

Seriously bad idea, but then again it'll make it's way into HW and be made a movie with some no-name newbie wannabe actor.
