I so want a new vid card, my Geforce 2 ultra is doing well for its age, but GEFORCE FX kill all those in its path.
(if the written specs don't change)

yeah! have a Geforce2 MX myself was going to splash out on a Geforce3... so glad I held out, might require a little extra savings though...

its always best to skip a generation I find. I have done it since the TNT. TNT - GF1 - GF3 - GF-FX? oh yeah! they don`t normally have enough to improve between each generation and you can normally cope in the 6 month gap between each release and just save up for the new expensive one.

the 1 ghz thing is great and all, but its not going to mean anything until the motherboards come out that can open the pipeline to the cpu and actually utilize this speed boost.
this new card (until nvidias 1ghz board comes out) is basically like blasting a firehose thru a straw.

Can't hurt though :) All that extra speed for executing vertex and pixel shaders, accessing on-board RAM for texel fetches, faster triangle filling, etc...
Of course, it would be nice if the bandwidth to/from system RAM was higher though :)
