OK, so this is my second 3D project I did just for fun and learning. Tried to do some photorealism, but i guess i failed (later some of my friends said that this reflection thing is a bygone and oldschool stuff). Anyways, some more of my pics at www.hot.ee/miqpilt (the site is in estonian!!!)

looks good but i think a couple of things might be missing..

- tear and wear on the side of the board and the wheels...
- arent there supposed to be screws on top of the deck ??
- add a bump map or something to the top as well, to simulate the "grain" (im not down with the skate-lingo.. :P ) that keeps your feet from sliding..
- maybe add a bit of specularity to the bottom of it. some wood texture or so maybe...

Id either take down the reflection on the ground or make some of the lights not affect the trucks on the skateboaerd on the right. Even though alot of light would be reflected from the floor under the board, not that much would make the tucks that bright and with that might highlights. And even if it did, then you would see more of the board as well. Just remember that the light would be alot less birghter under the board.

I also agree w/ Stimpy.

Also, remember that even straight from the factory the edges and materials used will never be 100% perfect, thus the difference between alot of CG and life objects.

I like it! Very nice.
The griptape needs bump, though and the trucks look a little thin around the screw.
Nice!

Well you dont always have screws showing on a board. It depends on when you apply the tape. Generally you apply the tape first, but back when I used to skate sometimes I would assemble them and not have any tape on hand, thus no screws throught the tape. That is though untill I broke it down.

A few things on the mechanics of it though. When I ran a wheel that large with a lower profile truck like that I would use a spacer between the deck and the truck, to keep the wheels from snagging the board (still rem the pain when that happens just before a flight of stairs :) ).

Also the truck is just pasted on the board right now. You need to put holes in the truck base (free one on the floor) so that mounting bolts are possible. Also on the upward deck also put the same bolts in it so it is correct.

Masta you are right the free truck needs threads on the axle as well.

Other than that has been already stated.
