I am new to 3ds and have been trying to complete the quick start animation tutorials. In the offical Autodesk Tutorial - Posing a Biped - Adjust the Legs: section says that you can use the Symmetrical button to select the opposite thigh and then it indicates (in the accompanying images) that when you reposition the one leg the other should also mirror the possition. This does not happen for me. The other leg moves the same way (not mirrored). Am I doing something wrong? I have followed the instructions exactly as written. Other uses of the symetrical button in their new tutorials such as Animating the Biped with Freefrom Animation has the same problem when setting the arms. I move one arm forward the other moves back. Seems like all the symetricall button does is select the limb across and does not effect transforms at all. How can I possition a limb and have the opposite enharit the same (mirrored) transforms or rotations? Or copy a limb and paste mirrored? Someone please help. Has anyone else had trouble completing the new Max 8 Autodesk tutorials?

Well I figured out how to copy poses and paste them to the opposite limbs using the Copy/Paste Postures buttons in the Copy Paste rollout. It still seems like the Offical tutorials are wrong about how the Symetrical Button in the Track Selection rollout is suppose to work. Am I crazy? Did anyone else have this problem?

I JUST finished working on the biped tutorial. I was having the same problem. Trick that they dont mention in the tutorial is that before you can copy and paste you have to click on a little button right above the copy and paste rollout buttons that looks kinda like a sun. It's something like "Create new posture" or something like that. After that I could follow the tutorial exactly like it told me to.
