Hi,
Im making a scroll which unfolds from rolled up to opened. I have tried everything to make it dynamic. Intial state, goal targets, springs but I am running Complete so I dont have Cloth. (and I dont know if it even can be done there).
I have now animated it with CVs and loftet it between so its kind of there. But help or clues to make this happen with dynamics would appreciated cause I need to turbulence after it has been unfold, and also kind of MORE realistic unfold..

att. the anim (a gif, not real framerate)

thanks.
B.

you could take rigid bodies and parent them to the cv's of the curve already raveled.
Loft the curves, and it'll be as dynamic as your personality mister.

You could use the Maya Hair system to create dynamic curves from the ones you've got. You can then apply turbulance or whatever fields you like to the hair system.

You may also want to add another curve or two into the middle of your scroll, depending upon how much deformation you want in the center.

oki I cant use hair cause I run Complete.
I havent really got any closer, I will experiment more and return if I figure something out.

thanks.

here is something i quickly did in maya.. uses 12 polygon cubes (rigid body) to mimic the scroll.. u can use it as a influence object or drive the curve or anything u want to animate the real hero scroll.. this is just a test ..

u can play ard with settings.. eg dump and gravity to ur desire effect..:)

that just work like totally what I was going after. Freak'a'saurusly cool.
I parented 2 CV curves within every rigid b, and loftet between them.
I had already started on making the exact same setup, but I gave up on the way..
This setup is GREAT because now I can tweak totally and still have the realism.
cool, looks great  thanks!
