View Full Version : deformers/input order?

Hello all,

Situation is as follows: I have a completed animation where the characters use a limited number of Blend Shape Deformers for facial expressions.

Now I have the desire to add more Blend Shape Deformers so that I can make them lipsync.

The Problem: is that although I can view my inputs (by right clicking), I cannot figure out how to change the inputs order so that my new Blend Shapes will be evaluated AFTER the Cluster Deformers (which I believe are the inputs for my actual animation)

My Direct Question: is do any of you know whether this is actually possible, and if so perhaps you know how or where to find that information.

I have been all over the internet and have read through the books that came with Maya 7 over the course of the last week. There does not seem to be alot of information out there dealing specifically with editing inputs.

Thank you in advance, your time is greatly appreciated.

hey,

I'm not sure if this is what you need.. but, if you click on an object, then right click, go to inputs, then all inputs, you have a list of all of the deformers that you can rearange by middle mouse dragging up and down. hope this helps.

Blendshapes have to come before the skin cluster in the deformation order. Otherwise your model will be pulled off the skeleton and travel back to the origin everytime you turn on a blendshape.

werd up.

hope all other replies help

i tend to use cluster in blendshape faces only and later on edit the blend shape faces

and keeping history

so that if original blend shape gets edited so does the final model when you will move slider
