Do we still need the BodyPaint <-> Lightwave plugin in Cinema 4d R8 to transfer the work back to Lightwave 7.5 for render? IF we do, did anyone make it work correctly? Also, what about hair plugin (like Sasquatch) in Lightwave - how does it work in Body Paint?

I was able to just open the lightwave file (.lwo) in Cinema R8 using File/Open menu. Then use bodypaint to paint the colour and texture onto the model. But can we import the model back to Lightwave without the plugin in Cinema R8? It seems that the plugin to send it back to Lightwave does not work too well and is unusable. Saving it as wavefront obj also does not work properly at all. :arteest:

Thanks,
Rock

Hey Rock, Im sorry to bust in like this, but I noticed in your question you have the same software as me.(I assume) Question is what is this plug-in for, what does it do? I have it installed but I dont know what to do with it. I have LW7.5, BodyPaint, and C4DXL7. I would appreciate the help. thanx.

NY3D,

The plugin, downloaded from maxon site, allows you to transfer your Lightwave model back and forth between Lightwave and BodyPaint. That is, you model in Lightwave, transfer it into BodyPaint, paint and texture your model and bring it back into Lightwave to render or animate.
