tjbeseda 11-25-2002, 12:51 AM is it possible to bring in an external avi or other movie clip into the background, so that i can add 3d elements?? :D

Create a new material using your movie in the colour channel... Then apply it to a background object...

Just keep in mind c4d isn't a program meant for compositing. If in your render settings anti alias window you set the aa to "best" then the background image will render out slightly fuzzier than it really is. You might want to render an alpha channel too for compositing in something like after effects.

thanks for the tips. i will not use c4d for the compositing. i plan to just get my character where i want him for the clip and then render with a blue bg so that i can use final cut pro to super impose him. thanks a lot!!

Hi
I would render in C4D with an alpha channel not blue bg and comp in FCP by superimposing, blue screen is crap unless you are using HD format big files!!
