very nice model! clean mesh, yet very detailed.
i agree on the texture with the previous comments. it's a little too unifrom, but definately not bad overall, i love the specular map.

plus there are very few good looking girls that model military aircraft these days. :P

is this an assigment job ? or you just practise modeling etc... ?
because you can realy optimize your model more!
on the guns, you have a lot of detail! that is unnessesary!

agreed, the radar(?)-ball thingy has a bunch of segments on it aswell.
and I'd personally merge some verts on the side, from your wire01.jpg pic, Im not seeing how they would add to any detail. yeah overall, I can see some segments that I'd kill. but hey, lets not be picky :D I just tend to kill tons of verts as Im kinda old school with polycounts. But I'd still like to see this more thowards 7000 rather than 8000.

This was for my portfolio.
And i know it can be optimized a lot more but since i hade polys to spend... i spent them! :)

" This was for my portfolio.

if you said this phrase for someone u wanna work on gaming industry ( unless he owns a crap studio ) u would be eliminated instanealy.

why ?

u told us it is 7k tris well, i look at the model and i frankly see that you have LOADS of optimization, u can still keep the tris, but at least spend them where they are more needed.

The weapon, the sphere that you slapped on top of the flappers.

youv wasted triangles on the cockpit literally, you could at least spent 5k on the exterior, than 2k on interior, if you couldnt, find a way out, game art is like that..

i dont want to write more since i have a headache ill visit this later ;)

i really hope that u fix it...for your own good XD

Ok I have a few problemos with the m0del too, but its not alot. I would have to agree with Johnyll...but the other thing is that everything seems very thin. I made an apache and had the same feeling, and I just extruded the windows in and it gave it a nice feeling of depth. Of course then you would move the windows in closer too....I dont know if anyone else sees that, or if its just me

The other thing is the...antanae things on the top they seem to be coming into the pit. I circled them below....

I like the texture tho :)

great that you noticed that about the antenna sticking into the cockpit, i didn't notice it, but neither did anyone else that i showed it to so i hope i can get away with it for now... ;)

johnyII: You were'nt supposed to take that comment seriously...
And how did you come to the conclusion that i spent 2k on the cockpit? it's a maximum of 500 tris, can't check it right now for exact numbers. Or was it that i SHOULD spend 2k on the interior...? I'm not sure but i belive that's unessacary.
And no, i won't make any changes. Starting on a new model soon. :)

if you read my post carefully you would understood bout the 2k tris...it was supposed to give a sensation of balance, but u obviously dont understand, if it is for your folio i would consider to change everything mentioned, cause anyone that might want to hire you wont like to see stuff that could be fixed unfixed.

" And no, i won't make any changes. Starting on a new model soon." u dysplay that on ur folio, ull get the same critics , but the difference is that those arent suppose to help you, but to point ur fingers by someone that is trying to see fi ur work is flawless ;)

its just my advice i understand u wanna move on , and i hope ur next model turns out better and that u have in mind some stuff we said here.

best luck !!!

Well since i'm swedish, i do missunderstand some things people write... you should think about that.

I think it's great that you're helping me out, that's a part of why i post here, but this time i didn't have the time to make the changes. Thanks!

Nice model, i really like the wear around the missile pods! Perhaps a bit more variation in color just to block out different parts of the model (ie decals around the engine exhaust)?

I think you should take a quick look at this model: http://forums.cgsociety.org/showthread.php?t=305819

It has about the same (+-500) polycount but in my opinion better (perhaps not perfect) poly distrubution.

The main problem with your model is that it doesn't look like a highend 7500+poly model, but more like 2500polys or a lower lod-step for a detailed model.

Yes i agree, that model is better, and mine does look more like a lowpoly model...
Well... guess i'll keep it in mind for the next one! Thanks! :D

Do that!

Looking forward to seeing more from you, did I mention that you are showing great progress? :)
