View Full Version : Material Q: "Circle-ize" a shader?
Snorkledorf 12-14-2005, 09:34 AM Is there any way to take some "horizontal" shader (take the Spline shader as an example) and mess with it somehow, so that it can be mapped onto the geometry in a circle? Basically a procedural version of Photoshop's Polar Coordinates filter (Rectangular to Polar mode) like the simple image below.
I'm thinking it'd be nice to use in a Layer shader...if it exists!

There is no solution within the C4D materials right now. I missed this features a couple of times, too.
Maybe I find the time to work something out :-)

Cool! That's funky! Thanks Lennart!
Of course, I have no idea why that works :D, but just the fact that it's possible means that now there's a lot of playing around I have to do!
(I've attached my variation on that scene, using the spline shader. FWIW.)
