I unwrapped a head yesterday, but today I added the interior of the mouth, so I am attempting to re-unwrap again so that I can include the new mouth.
The problem is that although the inside and the outside are welded, the inside doesn't get unwraped :(
I mean, when I go to the Edit UVs window the inside is not there, why would this be?

What's puzzling too is that I had already Skinned it, without a problem. I was able to move its tongue.

40 mins later....
The most I've been able to do is exclusively select the inside of the mouth at the Poly gon sub-obj level and apply a UV Unwrap, the problem here is that Flatten nor any of the Mapping methods are available :(

Hey how about importing the UVs? I tried unwrapping the inside of the mouth, but on one that I had detach-cloned, and it worked. So if I could save the UVs to then import them into the original ones that would circumvent the problem.

Thanks guys,

So far what worked for me was
1. detach-clone the inside of the mouth,
2. delete the original
3. attach the clone
4. UV Unwrap it (it did work this time)

I would still love to hear why it didn't work at first. Or suggestions for potentially better approaches.

Thanks,

There have been times when I was sure that the Unwrap UVW modifier was malfunctioning, but what was really happening was that the scale of my new UV's was just gigantic in comparison to the original. The easiest way to test for this and other UV problems is to use a patterned map on the object, it will be obvious if the pattern is repeating itself it tiny little dots on the unfindable faces in the viewport or if it is one solid color (meaning it's microscopic in comparison). Often I zoomed out to check for this, just not enough, because it was way out there. Load an old scene and see if this was the problem.

Glad I could help. It would still be nice to know why this is happening though, I guess it's a bug.

You mean, the fact that it shows in such a small size? I don't know if that could be a bug, for sure it's not very helpful, as it is too easy not to see it. Now, if it were not to show at all, that I would call a bug without a doubt. Maybe it could be categorized as a mild bug, but a bug nevertheless.

I am so glad you pointed out though ;)
