View Full Version : V-ray material question (paper shader)
simpson 12-12-2005, 04:35 PM Hello, i'm trying to do a paper shader.
the problem is when i place an omni inside my model (let's say a simple tube with 1 mm walls) the light doesn't go through as it would go through a simple peace of paper.
here's a photo of what i'd like to get:

Hi.
The problem is that V-Ray doesnt know if you have got 1 mm of metal, concrete or tissuepaper. So it treats it as a 100% solid object until you create a material for it. What you need to have a look at is trancelusency or SSS (Sub Surface Scattering). You could even play around with the egzVrayWax Material from www.vray.info (http://www.vray.info)

but as you can see the render time was enormous, and the img was only 320x240
