the environments a little bare at mo and i need to fix a few probs with the cliffwall texture co-ords, but its just my little experimentaion with composite materials, think itll look sweet with some cactuses, rocks, and oil drilling stuff around the shop

i was thinking about that, but dosntthat use alot of texture space? i suppose you could do a plane for each blade, but with two sided poly(game engine) issues i thought that this would be better.

wow thats great, it reminds me of the game cube type of graphics. (colourful yet detailed) keep it up.

The colors on your texture maps are a little too saturated IMO, and you have shaded with black instead of blue or purple, which makes it look noobish. There are almost no specular highlights painted on, which looks a little weird on a metal aircraft. You could save a lot of polys by modeling the seats separately from the cockpit interior. I like the way the top of the vehicle bubbles up to hold the prop and turbine, that's a nice touch!

Adam Atomic- thanks for the tip on the seats, will fix that easy peasy, but im not quite sure what you mean about shading with blue and purple( do you mean the metal parts?) if you could tell me i would appreciate it. as for the specular highlights, i was keeping them low cos i was working off real helicopter(military) reference photos that were quite matt. but i know what you mean and will have a play.
somnambulance- might make a Moving version with that technique with motion blurred blades
Chon Wang- thanks, am trying for a kinda advance wars style, keeping those bright colours.

ok so i was up late last night, as i said did this entire model last night, rigged it this morn, thats probably a record for me. oh and the ak47-alike as well
think the texture still needs a little/lot of work please crit away, really trying to nail my texture work at the mo.

Great work throughout and I love the pilot character. Very efficient use of polys as well, Keep it up dude!!

This is positively hilarious. :D I love the look you've got going, and really nice poly-usage. I can't really see anything wrong with the chopper, but the pilot could use a little work.
His armpits are pretty wide, but I'm guessing that can be solved by adjusting the rigging. I'm not really digging the shoes, either. I'm not sure if the sole area is supposed to look like that, or if it's a texture stretching issue. Also, the AK lookalike isn't very AK-lookalike. ;) But I suppose that might have been a stylistic choice.

LotekK the shoes were a poly restiction map usage, thing, i know that they are a little off, i was kind of going for those huge (horrible IMO) rock boots, with like a metalick sole, cos i was trying for a kind of camp "topgun crossed with apaccolypse now" style to this pilot, and others if i get around to making them. just somit a little different. and pesonally i dont think it matters if the ak47-alike isnt much like, artist licsense.
will take another look at those shoes.
