oh those numbers have changed abit,

ive been working on this for a weekend on the pretense that it was to be 5000 tris, and one 1024 map. aaaaaagh.

so i hope to have time to do this one as the level of detail has been upped ssssoooooo much.

heres me crap concepts, scanner is defunct, so had to photograph them ewwwwhttp://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c346/Shepeiro/teapotconcept2.jpg

basically im going for a kind of toonesque assult and artillery vehicle, kind of inspired by advance wars, Howls moving castle and a teapot.

the command cabin is on top, there will be a gun room, where a rythem action re-loading mini game will be played, a troop room with benches lockers and a ramp down to the assult room, where a ramp down onto ground and gun emplacements are.

might possible add an engine room and a sleeping quaters too as increase in poly counts demand.

Lol the huge teapot of death! I like the concept. Model looks cool so far. Yeah the numbers changed :| I fear some people are in shock or because of this. Remember it is considering duplication. and 80,000 is only the tip. IF you make a good looking level with 45,000 that is fine.

yeah but still im thinking those numbers may put off alot of people from finishing. holiday season and all.

whine whine, its just i was going to do this as light releif from my Next gen 80,000 tri fiat 500,
but its turned into a behemouth (SP)

yeah, i got screwed with the poly boost too. it's mostly my own fault though for trying to keep working with what i had built originally.
i like the concept a lot. i would put the spout/barrel bit on some sort of mobile hinge/ball joint though, just to make it a little bit more feasible as a gigantic quadraped killing machine. that way it won't have to totally pivot to take certain shots.

other than that, can't wait to see how the added polys go into this! best of luck

ill-logic the barrel will rotate up/down at base but the whole tuuret/thing has to turn to go left/right, you see in a world where they make giant walking tanks out of teapots, they are not to well known for theyre superoir enginerering skills,

hellboy- dont play Metal gear much, like never since first game, pissed me off too much, but maybe things would have been different if it had had giant teapots in it.

that's cool, like a tank? then that's all you need. i was just not sure if the barrel had the ability to move vertically. i thought it might have to bend & pivot using the legs to get sort of trickier shots or something, which would be cool, but pretty shaky inside i'd imagine. good work, keep it up!

whens this comp supposed to finish?

i dont think im going to have much time for this befor XMAS, my Fiat is nearly finished modelling, but that leaves alot of texturing to do....

.... maybe ill finish it with original poly/map quotas, and enter it anyway, i dont want to abandon it, but just not sure if im going to have enough time for ANOTHER 80k project.

 :scream:  :argh: :banghead:
