Hello guys

I just got my package of Cinema 4d R8 XL bundle from Maxon. Early Christmas gift from the family. I have been drawing freehand since 6 years old. Now 24 I decided to enter the wild world of 3d.

Anyway, after trying about every demo I could find, LW, Max, Maya, etc, I felt Cinema 4d was for me. A guy was telling me how purchasing the wrong program could burn you out so I did not want to overdo it. I feel very relaxed with the Cinema interface compared to the others.

I hope you guys wont mind some newbie questions down the road :)

what a friendly way to get started.
welcome....get ready to dig in cos its gonna be a long ride. Much of which i'm sure you'll enjoy.

And don't forget...there is no such thing as a stupid question...cos loadsa people read these boards without ever posting. I think you'll find everybody very helpful, even if a little jealous of your v. kind family....heh heh.

flingster, yeah it will be my only gift :p They all combined and I am more then grateful.

Cinema is a blast. I have been working on and off with a tut on the maxon site. Something easy to start with and learn some tools. Haunted House, and it has been nothing but fun. I made a good choice. I feel VERY relaxed with the interface and the workflow. So much so that I need to get up and eat :D
