Title: Aim, Please.
Name: Daniel Thompson
Country: Canada
Software: Maya, mental ray
This image was inspired from a small wall hanging in a bathroom I once saw. I am relatively new to rendering in MentalRay, and I am self taught (via online tutorials, and lots of reading) in Maya. Comments, and suggestions are gladly welcomed.

Haha, thats a good one.
Men have three eyes, and yet we still somehow manage to miss the damn hole. :D

Catchy phrase there, hehe :)
Here are some crits (what I personally think would improve the picture):
Too much reflectivity on the wood. The wood texture seems put on the wrong way, diagonally, and it looks like the ring and the cover has been 'molded' from the same big chunk of wood. Paper roll has the wrong color, what about white and some translucency (with a solid roll inside it of course)? The sign is way too big. The plant doesn't look like a plant, needs more 'waxy' surface, some bump and a more realistic colormap. Too little light in the scene, the colormaps 'die', don't be afraid to add light sources.

Thanks for the critique, and as I mentioned I'm still learning Mental Ray, and Maya, so some textures didn't turn out quite as well as I had hoped, but at least now you have given me things to look into, and to try and perfect.
