New Concept WIP. that I just started but have been thinking about for a few years now..:)
After hearing President OBAMA say he was giving the Nuclear Reator people and the Coal Industry billions of more dollars to further endanger and pollute the planet that we all share,...I decided I should create something that would counter his idea and gesture...

My idea...Put small wind turbines and solar panels on top of every telephone pole out there..milions and millions of them out there..An easy hookup,..just attach a few wires that run through a regulator and alternator which are in the wind turbine and solar panels already, and connect them to the system that is already in place and feed the energy produced by the wind turbine and solar panels into what is already in place..telephone poles and the electric grid that they already feed...So simple it would work, and would also create alot more jobs and save alot more money than the idea that OBAMA just put forth to appease the special interest that are obviously pulling his strings at pesent time.

ART AND ARTIST CAN AND HAVE CHANGED THE WORLD,...INSPITE of all of the LOBBIEST, SPECIAL INTEREST GROUPS, INDUSTRIES, CORPORATIONS, ECT. ECT. AND ALL OF THE OTHER IDIOTS OUT THERE...

ZDOODLEING with my EARTHMAN Super Hero
Fist one is him knocking the OILMAN out of the picture with Wind and Solar Power as his weapon of choise..
Second one is him powering up the planet with that same weapon of choise..:)
Just having some fun with this concept and these little thumbnails which are capturing inital thoughts on the subject...I wrote more about this EARTHMAN Super Hero concept and his major adversaries, and posted more about them a few pages back in this sketchbook in case anyone may be interested....Just a little pet project of mine, done mostly just to amuse myself and to get the anger towards EARTHMANS adversaries, which are my own adversaries out of my system..:)

Put a twist in the body to add flow, rhythm and movement..Next step... refining the bone and muscle structure, which is just in a rough blocked in state at this stage.

Further along with this piece....Googled vampire bat for references to do some of the details..wings,back legs, the way the tail skin flap works ect...Found a nice image of a species that I never knew existed..White Winged vampire bat...Going to make the wings on this critter of mine white..should unify the piece by making it go with the whiteish skull colors I think..Never knew that there were so many varities of vampire bats...Live and Learn Something New Everyday...:)

Worked on this piece somemore...Title..LIFE SPIRIT
I want to incorporate the seasons of life into this theme.Need to make a baby, and a youth to go with the middle aged, and old aged figures that I have just put into place...The skull in the middle represents death ..with the seasons of life surounding it....With the lifeforce embodied in the woman/life spirit and earth down below.

INteresting stuff Spirit. The Z-Brush stuff is amazing. I did not get a chance to play with the software enough before my trial run ran out. So, I bought some clay and playing with sculpting the old fashion way.

THANKS Aggie..:) You can't go wrong sculpting with clay in real life...What you learn from it, will always show up in your drawing, painting, and digital sculpting also, if you ever decide to get the Z Brush program in the future..:thumbsup:

Yea, she was not real thrilled with me laying the cold plaster over her, even though I let her wear a t-shirt. :twisted: After last night, I see that this model can help with future drawings with aspect to proportions and shadows. Plus, I am having fun! Thanks for looking at it.

Spirit - your painting as of lately have been very "fluidy". Not that it is bad, but why have you decided with this type of work?

Aggie...I don't know about the fluidity that you asked about.....I probably am doing it to counter and offset the solidity that 3D projects..not that that is a bad thing, but it tends to still the perception of the motion that fluidity creates..
I have been spending alot of time over at Z Brush central and have a new sketchbook going on over there. Alot of the works I see over there, are great and very highly detailed, but they tend to be on the photographic side of the spectrum, and even if done from imagination and purely fanciful, they look photograhic , and like a photo, freeze the image in place, killing any motion or a true percetion and feeling of it.
..It's kind of like if you took a photo of a rough piece of surf at the ocean, and compared it to a well done non photograchic looking or style of oil painting with the energy of that surf captured in the way that the artist feels for and by the subject at hand, and expresses that feeling of energy through and by his or her brushwork...There is no comparision..one image is created by a machine/camera, and the other by a human being, which is capible of feeling and emotion, and is able to visulize what it feels like and express it...which is something that a camera and a photographic type of rendering can never achieve, no matter how detailed it my be.
Human Emotion,Feeling and Spirit trumphs and triumphs over machine...ALWAYS..At least in my world, that is a fact that is still true :)

I really like watching how you re-use elements you are working on in a variety of ways to make multiple compositions.

I also really liked the addition of the child like person in the most recent batch of pictures. It sort of looks like some cherub or spirit guiding the bow of the riding figure.

Thanks Tasp..Working with these characters that I create along the way, is the same as when you were a kid, and got out your collection of toys out of your toy box, and then just started playing as kids do..before they get their imaginations and sense of the magic of life stiffled and conditioned by school...Most people forget what that newness of life was like, ........... fortunitly, i'm not one of them....that is my true fortune in this life..:)

HEY Esmeralda.:wavey: .THANK YOU for the kind words..Yep, I still have a little energy left in me yet..Kind of like one of those DURACELL DIE HARD BATTERIES I guess..:) That coveted imagination of an unfettered child is definitly a treasure worth reclaiming if lost...Life has a way of claiming the body, but it can and will never claim the child spirit within and the imagination that comes with it, unless it is allowed to..:)

Man your computer must be really fast with all the models in one screen.

Mine would probably turn into a smoke generator LOL.

I like the stuff in post nr 3813. Wish you'd add a bit more light to that scene where the flying lion attacks the dragon. But even if you don't, it's nice :D

HEY Johan.:wavey: .THANKS MAN..:) ..Jessica added some more ram to my computer a couple of years back, I can't rember how much, but it has been working smoother ever since she did it..It's a good thing that she knows how to do the technical stuff , or I would still be choking on those turbintine fumes..:D
Got to love this new technology...We got to see and listen to our new grandson take his first crawl and pull himself up to stand up on his own and mumble his first attemped words yesterday live on SKYPE..and he was 3000 miles away..Who would have thought it possible, only a far off dream a few years ago..time sure flies by seems like...:)
I'm going to play with the lighting more on that lion and dragon piece that you mentioned..just posted it so I wouldn't forget..Alot of irons in the fire lately, but i'm learning new things, and keeping myself busy in the process, which is really what it's all about at this stage of the game in my life..:)
I hope all is well over your way with you and yours..and thanks for the visit also, ..It's always a welcomed pleasure hearing from you..

It's indeed amazing to see what we can do today thanks to technology.
I was trained to be an electronic repairman at school but haven't touched many electronic components since then. I would be totally lost and it's been only 15 years or so since I graduated. Who knows what will be possible when our children and grandchildren are adults? :)

Why don't you try acrylics then? No fumes and just as much fun :D

It's great to see that after all these years one is still able to be inspired. I guess as long as the inspiration comes, there is a reason to live.

LOL I understand.
I'm actually having a blast with acrylics lately myself.
It's a lot less practical than using the wacom tablet, that's true, but I just can't help but feel like a 6 year old that just got an icecream when seeing the wonderful things occurring as I mix those pigments together... :D
I am learning a lot about color and light by doing this, things that are no secret to you anymore ofcourse, things I wasn't learning when reading books or even when painting digitally. So I'm going to keep dabbing the paints for a while :D
Ofcourse, when there is time left, I'll get to my Wacom tablet. I call her my mistress and if there's one thing you can't do with a lady, it's letting her lay around getting full of dust LOL.

Your toybox analogy is extremely appropriate Glenn. My little brothers and I built cities in the dirt behind our house in order to play with our toy cars when we were little. I feel like I'm playing with toys again as I keep learning how to draw. Only this toy is more of a conduit for my imagination than anything I've played with before.

I have a few questions about your Zbrushing- Do you make most of your objects from scratch in Zbrush or do you make base meshes in another program and import them in?

HEY Aggie.:wavey: ..Yep...it's just a sketchbook full of dreams and visions , a few tutorials, and alot of shared knowlage...Just something i'm leaving behind me, that may or may not be useful to other people in this community of artist and those learning to be when i'm gone...Only time will tell that story, because it Won't be my worry when i'm gone..At least I hope that's the case..LOL..:scream: :)

I like what you wrote about you and your brother...Reminds me of me and my brother..We used to play for hours in the back yard..digging trenches around forts made in and out the dirt, and then filling the trenches up with water from the garden hose. Had fun creating battles with toy soldiers crossing the motes surrounding the forts on rafts we made...ANCIENT memories now, but still fun to think about..:)
The whole idea about keeping the kid within us alive as we get older was done great in a Rod Sterling exposode in the TWILITE ZONE...They also put an updated version of that eposode years later with Catman Schuthers in the first MOVIE version of the TWILITE ZONE...Was called KICK THE CAN if I rememer right..If you haven't already seen it, you should ..Rod Sterling had a fantastic imagination and could really tell some good stories using that imagination of his..:)
About your Z Brush questions, ..I make up most of the models from scratch, using ether the primatives in Z Brush like the sphere shape for the heads ect. or using the Z Sphere's for the full figures..I just pose them the way I see them in my minds eye using the Z Spheres'/slinky figures, and then convert them to a skined version where I sculpt in the muscles.
Some of the figures like the lion, I created by modifying the great dane dog model that came with the program, and some of the models are ones that people have created and then share with the community..I always give them the credit for creating the model to start with, before I go about making my own modifications to it which will better fit it into whatever scene i'm using it in.
I only have the Z Brush program which i'm still learning and also still haves tons of stuff left to learn in it yet.... and the Corel Painter #10 program.
Alot of the works I've been doing lately are a combination of those two programs..I've been trying to get the best qualities from each program for what i'm after regarding my
works, by combining the two programs by going back and forth between the two programs with whatever piece i'm working on..Some of them are also just straight Z Brush..depends on the piece, and what kind of effect i'm trying to learn from it, and also get out of it at the time i'm working on it..

You have been working lately. Looks like Z-Brush is taking over the majority of your works. Do you see that Z-brush will replace photoshop or painter. I also wonder if I bought my wacom cintique too early with the release of the i-pad. I wonder if the software people will follow suit with the advent of i-pad. I have gone back to my pad and pencil the last few weeks due to my traveling. I should be home for a while now I will get back to some digital work and my clay model.

Hi Aggie...Yep, I think that Z Brush is well on the way to becoming an all in one package program..It will be that I think when they come out with Z Brush 4 very shortly..:)
I'm glad that I got in on the ground floor with this amazing program..makes it that much easier to keep up with all the new and totally groundbreaking additions that they keep adding to the program..while absorbing and or wiping and out all of their competion in the process...:D
Plus, and it's a big plus,..ALL of their upgrades to the newer versions have been and will continue to be FREE...Very smart move on their part, and great for struggling artist out there, which will always play a big role in the ZBrush programs future..:bounce:

View of the salt water marsh behind my house, where every year a pair of Osprey/fishing hawks have and rear their young.
I sit out there for hours sometimes, just to watch them come and go as they catch fish and bring it back, tear it into small pieses, and then go up into the nest to feed the young. As the young get older, they teach them how to hunt, and by the time fall arrives, they are on their own, and the cycle is complete, until they arrive back in the next SPRING, WHEN IT ALL BEGINS ..ANEW.:)

Spirit - I downloaded Blender 3D yesterday and I have been playing around with it. However, I have some questions about 3D art. Once you get your figure modeled out, do you take it and adjust it and add clothes and stuff or create a new model for each piece of work? Also, once you get the model ready to be placed in a portrait, you save it as a jpg or something and bring that into Painter or Photoshop to paint?

THANKS Andrew.:) ..That's what I am going for in that character..The bearer of desease. The same way they used to depict illness and whatever else they feared and did not understand in medevel times, by creating a character that enbodies those fears, and in most cases misunderstandings.

HEY Aggie :) The way I approach digital 3D, is the same way that I appoach digital painting ...I work on a single layer, and save versions as I go along..Like this one i'm posting now,..it's up to version #47..This way, I can go back and take different versions of the piece, and explore and experiment with it in different directions..colorwise,compositionwise,lightingwise, ect.
When I work on a composition in Z Brush that's going to be used as a poster or 2D print, I flatten it out as a document in the Z Brush program, and then create a new layer ontop of the flattened out version which is now 2D, and then add whatever more 3D elements i've created and want in the composition to that top layer..This way, I will not lose the layer beneath it, which is the base composition that i'm further composing ontop of.
When I take a piece from Z Brush to Painter #10, I just export it as a PDF file and then convert it to BMP in Painter #10 so it becomes a single layer which I can once again keep different exploratory versions of, which are created in Painter #10, before taking it back into Z Brush again, where I further work on it adding more 3D elements by creating a layer on top of the version I import back into Z Brush.
Z Brush is getting to the point now however where I don't need to go into Painter #10 as much, because the painting abilities of Z Brush have improved rapidly with each new version that has and is coming out.
I don't know how the Blender program works, I never tried it, but I imagine, that it's going to take you alot of just plane old trial and error and alot of experimenting and exploring before you understand it's full capibilities and possibilities of it that will suite your needs and desires.
Just have full with it, while learning it, is the best advise I can offer I think,...The best thing I like about 3D, is the ability to view the models I create from all different perspectives, just by spinning them around on the screen. It would take alot of work and headaches along the way if I were doing what I can imagine by hand in a traditional method and manner..That's why i've come to love digital so much over the years..It allows me to fully explore in reality,what I would otherwise only imagine in my minds eye.:)

I really admire your dedication, you are so active and produce so much quality work.

This last piece you are working on looks very cool. the only problem I can see is on the archer´s line of action, I think the movement is not so well focused, I mean, it would be pretty hard to hold the arch that way with the other arm strongly pulling the arrow.

BTW your life drawings are great too!

Wow Glenn, that bat demon just keeps getting creepier and creepier!

The two subtle changes of gloss and the hollow under the cheekbones really change the feel. It looks even more icky now that it appears to be covered in some sort of mucusy stuff and the cheekbones give that smile a very hokey but scary look. Like it's trying to put on a non-threatening face but not exactly succeeding.

In the beginning there was the Great Spirit. Pure Energy with Consciousness; but no Body. Just a Dream not yet dreamt. Longing for Form, it dreamt of a body, so it could be alive within itself. It dreamt of the Earth. A special place it could feel at Home in. Its very own Body. Its Temple to Itself.
It eventually grew Tired and Lonely and finally fell asleep where it dreamt of Life.
Its dream was populated with all the Life Forms it could Imagine. But, like all Dreams, they can change from Pleasurable to Nightmarish in an Instant. And that is exactly what happened.
The Great Spirit had a horrendous Nightmare. It dreamt its Heart had been Pierced and its Life's Blood was being Sapped by a Giant Parasite it had Created in its Imagination: The "Mammom".
Startled, it awoke from its Nightmare and left its body: the Earth.
And Once Again became Pure Spirit:
Energy with Consciousness, but now it had Memory.
As it looked back at its former Body, it realized its Nightmare had become a Reality. And it Wept.
It Wept itself to Sleep and dreamt a new Dream, that had the Memory of the Old Dream in it. And it Wondered if what it saw was Real - or just a Dream within a Dream.
In between the Mind and the Hand that Wields the Power of Reality or Dream, there has to be a Heart of Love and Kindness with Compassion. Or Life, Reality and Dream become a Hell: a Place and/or Situation that is not worth Living in or Dreaming about.

Doing some skin and lighting studies on a model that I sculpted in ZBRUSH from imagination..Just trying to learn some new tricks that will add to my old bag of tricks..:)

Children have an unbyist, unclutered and much clearer and purer vision than adults do...

This brings us to the main flaw of our Western Society having exploited information as a means of individual enrichement: Our children's pure vision is being corrupted for USD and EURO driven reasons. As a parent of 3 kids, and a 4th on the way, it is my deepest wish to succeed in armoring our children's souls against the constant battering of capitalism. We will probably fail at some point (This Take Tribe, as you call it, it's everywhere! Even I am part of it: I have a car I use almost daily, I eat things I don't need to survive, etc), but we must keep trying! If we raise our children with the idea that we don't need all the bling bling to be happy, and that we can always search for better, alternative ways, to achieve our goals in life, there is hope that some of them will live that way as adults. Hopefully, in their turn, they will then pass on that message.

No point in being over-optimistic though... It will be hard to get a better result than that.

HEY Johan...It's not just western ...it's total and global...Mammonization.

When I was a kid, there was a biker gang that was just as big a club as the Hells Angels.
Their name was SATANS SLAVES..They are all old and retired now, saw one with the title of the club tattooed on his arm about 30 years ago while I was at the beach...He and his wife were enjoying the view on the pier where I was fishing..First one I had seen since I was a little kid...Anyway, I always liked that title...captures everything about this life we all share in a nut shell, so to speak..
Being aware of the fact that we are all Satans Slaves or Mammons Slaves is a step in the right direction..Where that step will lead to, if anywhere is known only to the fates I suppose.
One thing is for sure though,..some things never change,human nature for better and worse being one of the things that never changes.
That TAKER TRIBE that I described was made beautifully clear in a movie with Anthony Hopkins..Title is ...INSTINCT....Watch it if you ever get a chance to..pretty good movie.

I'm making a few assumptions but I'm going to run with them for now-

I really like the addition of the windmill in the oilman vs earthman piece. I think it really changes the commentary of the piece, especially how it is being wielded from an inferior position almost as a weapon of last resort. It also give the piece a little bit of hope, before it left me with nothing but a deep sense of foreboding and agreement that this was the situation we were in. Personally I think this sort of personifies humanity's struggle with doing the right thing, often we do the easy thing until there is no other choice but to do the right (and hard) thing in order to survive. Perhaps if earthman had used this windmill lance earlier he wouldn't be in such a predicament.

Anyway keep up the good works Glenn! Watching you work with a specific current event topic in mind is extremely educational and inspiring.

I hope you don't mind,..I posted your reply above in my Sketchbook Thread over at ZBRUSH Central...It captures in words exactly what I am trying to say in visual form.
I have been catching hell from some in ZBRUSH Central for doing these pieces on the oil industry and it's effects on the Earth, and the LIFE that inhabits it...This latest disaster being just one of many in it's history.
Some people admire and love what i'm doing, and some hate and detest what i'm doing.
I guess that is the price one pays when doing art that is describing a contraversial topic.
Anyway, just wanted to thank you for those kind words that you posted above..They give me the strenght and courage to endeavor to persevere.....In spite of and because of all of the naysayers...:scream: :)

You've got an inspiring thread here Glenn :thumbsup:

In addition to being really impressed by your whole sketchbook, I'm really enjoying your latest piece. Yes, "controversial" subject matter does unfortunately divide people, but hopefully most people are mature enough to appreciate a piece like this on it's artistic merits, regardless of their political views. It is strange and frustrating that it is "controversial" to criticize those that would destroy the planet, but alas. I gave up debating that kind of stuff on the internet (or in person, for that matter) a long time ago...I just don't have the time or energy for it.

Anyway, wonderful work. I have always been drawn to surrealist/visionary types of art, and eventually hope to have the technical skills to take my art in this direction as well. Have you ever looked into the bienart Collective (http://beinart.org)? There are a lot of great multimedia artists over there that do work that might perhaps fit with your wonderful style.

Calling this version of this latest oil disaster in the Gulf of Mexico concept..DONE
Captures the feeling that I feel about it, in an expressionistic style that I think suits,captures,and describes my reaction to it better than a naturalistic style which anyone can create if they have a camera and photo reference.
The power and strenght of expressionism is that it gives a personalized account of an inner emotion which cannot be captured in a photo or a naturalism based on acidemia.

Hey Aggie :wavey: What was/is my inspiration for these pieces on oil...That's an easy question to answer...It's my new one year old grandson, and what the present and future hold for him as long as oil is in the picture of his reality and is a key player that is creating a fouled reality that is destroying and poisoning his world and future.
About manipulating created images..If you can imagine it, it can be done using ZBRUSH.:)

Glenn you just plain rock. I just realized that I've meant to comment on your last 3 or 4 posts but I was never able to come up with anything more constructive that that, ha :beer:

The oil-skulls are haunting my dreams and inspiring my imagination at the same time. The addition of the skeleton hands pretty much blows my already blown mind. I can imagine a whole series of tribute paintings I could do of that element alone, if only I had time. Thanks for inspiring us!

Jabuhrer ..THANK YOU :) ...Hurricane Season has arrived..opening up a whole new venue for this concept on the oil industry..Should keep me busy for quite some time..UNFORTUNITLY..:eek:
At least it will give me an opportunity to create works that are relative to contempory life, and the harsh reality of it's time..Will be interesting to see how this all playes out, and is viewed by the future..if there is one that is..:eek: :eek: :eek:

Awesome work as usual Glenn! The oiled dolphin is painful to see. It's so horrible what's happening in the gulf at the moment - so many living things being destroyed because of humanities greed. I'm so furious at the oil companies for abusing their power with complete disregard for our planet's future. I hope this is a big eye opener for our leaders and those in charge of the oil/mining companies so that they start putting more effort into doing things safely.

Tessa ..THANKS :) ....Yep,.Nothing has changed since Bosch did his paintings of the world of his time, except for the fact that the idiots have multiplied, and the technology in their grasp has gotten better...Some things never change, and idiocy unfortunitly is one of those things.

I really appreceate the visit Tessa,...I think that all of the people with any common sense left are outraged at the explotation of the people and all of the life on EARTH for that matter by the few idiots that have gained power and abuse it for their own gain with no regard for the future.

My grandsons first birthday today..one year old....and his first experience in the ocean.:bounce: :thumbsup:..HAPPY BIRTHDAY Cole :)

He is the reason for the works i'm doing about the oil industry and it's offshore drilling practices and disasters.
It's his fate that hangs in the balance, just like the child in the NEW SHIP OF FOOLS that is posted at the top of this page...He is the future, just like the child in that piece THE NEW SHIP OF FOOLS represents...and only a fool lets the future slip away.

Dear Glenn,

we must not lose faith.
It is, as you say, our children and grandchildren that will have to make up for the trouble we have given good old earth. It's not fair, but that's the way it is. The amount of "bad people" is so high that we have no other choice than to raise our newborns to become better human beings than the current generation. Hate to say it but no higher being will help us to solve this matter, we will have to do it ourselves.
The power of greed and selfishness is immensely strong to a lot of people, so we must take every chance to teach our smallest ones how to fight that evil power to prevent it from existing/growing inside themselves. We owe it to all those that will live on after we have gone, to arm their souls against greed and selfishness. To do that, we can teach them determination, hope, love and courage by being an example.

Little Cole looks quite sweet and I'm pretty sure he is surrounded with good loving people. That's the best start we can give a child. My very best wishes to the both of you :)

seriously,why arnt the big companies letting us adopt better ways to live by concentrating more on it and making them cheap then by trying to force out every last oil drop. the "petro age" is about to end, time to move on to something better.

That aside, i like this new idea, only thing that is has struck me odd is the rider with bow n arrow. why is he using them?is he aiming at the petro god?

by the way, have you tried the new software pixologic guys are working on. Its available on their site at alpha stage. i liked how sinple it is in its current form so i thought i'd give you a heads up on it.its called sculptris.

Hi Amrinder..That's a pretty good question about why they are clinging to oil when it's doing so much damage globally..answer...as always PROFIT...It's the same as with WAR...make it unprofitable, and it will stop existing...I don't mean just money ether..I mean POWER, which is also a form of profit ..and is a comodity that is always in demand for those who stand to gain it,..even if it be at everyone elses expense, no matter how bad the cost may be.
About that woman shooting the arrow...The arrow is aimed at the child, which is the future, ..a future that is being sacrificed to oil.
Just creating a concept and expressing a personal thought as I play around and explore ZBRUSH FURTHER..I can always go back and arrange the composition differently later in a more formal composition, but right now it's just about capturing the inital thought as best as I can and getting it down before it escapes..A sort of ZBRUSH thumbnail sketch...Capturing an abstract sort of passing thought before it vanishes back into the thin air from which it came..Which always happenes if it just remains pure thought in the mind.

About that new software program...SCULPTRIS..I was just reading about it this morning..I downloaded the link to it, but haven't tried it out yet..not even sure what it is about, but will soon give it a try...I guess it allows for the stretching of the mesh or something, which is what i'm always catching hell for in my works with ZBRUSH..LOL..:D
Anyway, thanks for the heads up..much appreceated..:thumbsup:
I have been getting a craviving lately to do another MANGA character experiment, so you might see something soon in that thread of yours..will give me a chance to lighten up a little, for a little while anyway, and to get away from this oil nightmare which has been haughting me for a long time now..:)

your getting a hang of it i see.can u give me any tips? i cant seem to use to properly and when ever i try to put details it looks like mesh goes missing like it blew up and crashes :( i had never modelled on zbrush with sphere too so i have no clue how to handle it.

Here is a link that is useful for doing the SCULPTRIS Alpha 5 program.

About sculpting from a sphere...it works great...Just use the sphere as the torso shape...flatten it out on one side a little to create the back of the torso..using the flatten brush..large....Then use the grab brush ..make the brush size large with the slider,..and pull down the bottom of the sphere making the waist and stomack section..then use the inflate brush set large to make the pelvic section...flatten the sides and front of the pelvis using the flatten brush....for the stomack muscles,..use the inflate brush...ect...The crease brush is great for gouging out areas, ..then the smooth brush over the gouged out areas..The smooth brush also acts like an eraiser,.reducing the size of edges ect...almost like when putting water on real clay and smoothing with your finger.
Use the same steps for the shoulder, arm and leg muscles ...inflate, grab,crease, flatten, and smooth.
I haven't done any fine detail, just the basic muscle forms, ..using the inflate, grab, crease, and smooth brushes.

I've been importing the figures from SCULPTRIS into ZBRUSH as tools, and then using the Sebessior Rust material, and some ZBRUSH lighting on the models to get the bronze look...and then sub devided four times..lookes like skin in bronze to my eye..I'm not into super fine detail myself..pores ect....don't have the patience, or desire for that sort of photo look..:D
I posted the figure i'm creating in steps and in the order that the forms of the fugure should be created..same as the order that the the old master sculpters used..Primary forms followed by secondary forms ...Torso/pelvis first...legs...arms...feet...hands second...neck,head, and face last.
Hope i've helped you some...feel free to ask about anything else that I may have left out, and you want to know about..The program is new to me, but seems pretty straight forward in it's usage for sculpting....I haven't tried the painting part of it yet..still haven't figured it out yet..:shrug:
