Title: Spectacular
Name: Gunilla Elam
Country: Sweden
Software: 3ds max, mental ray, Photoshop

This is my entry for the Spectacular challenge.
My idea with this was to show the spectacular in the small scale. It was really fun making it - thanks to all that helpt on the way!
Everywhere, every day - the most common of events; the beginning of new life. This is where we all come from. Without it there would be nothing, isn't that spectacular?
C&C welcome

Overall, this is pretty good... I can see a couple potential problems: I don't think that babies at that fetal stage have melanin.. they're almost transparent in some places. Also, the thing that looks like an umbilical in the upperright looks a bit weird. I think that the zygote actually implants in the tissue wall of the uterus itself, and the amniotic sac expands out from that.

Ali - thanks a lot!

Tibor - thank you, glad you like it!

Samer - thank you for the kindness.

Michael - When I started this I had a much more realistic style in mind. After some time I had to make the decision if I wanted to go for a realistic or a more poetic style to be able to achieve the mood I was after . So it ended up being partly "almost-realistic" and partly straight fantasy ... in the end it turned out quite much as I intended. I might very well try my hands on a more realistic version later so your good advice is very much appreciated. Thanks for taking the time!

Roshan - thanks and you keep rockin to, OK? :D

Eddie - thank you buddy. And I can tell, you where a great help for me on this - I got very inspired from your devlish baby :) Good luck and see you around!

Steph - Hey - thanks for the cheerful spamming, always really happy to see you

gaianix - Thank you, thats the best I can hear since I consider modeling to be my weakest point.

Andrius - thank you and good luck for you too!

shakes - thanks a lot and right back at you, love your Elvis piece to death ... eh, wait he's alive, isn't he? :D

Jannis - thanks and I'm so happy you like it

Thank you people for your always great support and for those interested a bigger rendering as wallpaper is available here (http://www.bitspin.net/images/wallpaper.jpg)

I'm very late here honey... but the most important was to find this thread...

Congratulations Gunie... 2 times... in first for this marvellous and sensitive image... in second for your 4 stars... good place to be at the top... you're really a spectacular girl you know...

...I could never forget the joy of taking part once again in this challenge at your sides, really perfect and irreplaceable moment... I'm already waiting impatiently the next one... even if I can't participate, I promised you to follow your work.

Thanks for all and best of luck for the following... :applause:

Thank you Laurent for the double congrats :)

As for the stars ... I'm a bit surprised, it seems very random since many of the strongest entries have quite few - so, so far it seems a bit like coincidence.

even if I can't participate, I promised you to follow your work.

Not participating? I believe it when I see it - isn't that what we all say just after the challenge have ended? :)

Thank you too for being such a great travel-mate.
